When it comes to beloved characters there are few as universally (and alternate universally) loved as superheroes, so the latest game from NetherRealm Studios (the famous folk behind the Mortal Kombat franchise) is sure to excite comic collectors and civilians alike. Injustice: Gods Among Us is a new fighting game that features a huge cast of DC Comics icons, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, Harley Quinn, The Flash, Green Arrow, Cyborg, Nightwing, Solomon Grundy, and many others.
As if the thought of Superman and Batman duking it out wasn’t exciting enough, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have now announced not one, but three varieties of collectors editions for the game, piled high with collectibles goodies for fans. Last year we got a sneak peak at the Collector’s Edition, but now we have more details of the final pack style and a Fighting Stick bundle to boot. But true fans be warned – the North America and European editions feature two different styles of beautiful-looking statues; once you see them both you might have difficulty buying just one of them.

A few days ago Deep Silver announced the Rigor Mortis edition for Dead Island Riptide and it stirred up an excited buzz for the collectible goodies it contained, as voted for by the gaming public. Now the ‘Zombie Bait’ Edition, exclusive to the UK (and PAL regions) has been revealed and it’s getting even more attention… but not for the right reasons.
Dead Island Riptide, the next installment in the tropical zombie-fest, continues to follow the survivors of Banoi as they escape to a military ship; alas a furious storm hits and it’s not long before chaos spreads and the waves start to overwhelm them. Similarly before Riptide has even been released, chaos has surrounded the title as the Zombie Bait Edition is being shipped with the bloodied torso of a bikini-clad woman. Male and female fans alike have cried out against the statue as an inexcusable example of sexism and a surefire way to make any fan displaying it look like a serial killer.
