Call of Duty ELITE is an exclusive on-line service release on November 8, 2011 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. It offers extra content for subscribers to enhance their gaming experience, it goes as far as customizing your classes on the go, so when you return home to your console you can jump straight into the action, without messing around.

It works in a similar way to Halo’s Bungie.net service, which offers a similar level of features for the hardcore gamer. This service however is split into two types of accounts, a free account and a premium account, the premium being the costly one. Naturally, a yearly subscription comes at a price of $49.99 USD (approximately £39.99). The question is: Is it worth the money? And why would or should you pay for the premium membership?

Modern Warfare is just around the corner, but Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward aren’t taking it easy; they have released a behind the scenes video discussing some of the new features in Multiplayer, including the Kill Confirmed and Team Defender modes.

It also give us a bit more detail on how customizable the modes are going to be, with just about every option up for changing in private modes, plus the ability the share your unique game modes with friends and the community.

The new Call of Duty Elite invite-only beta multi-player service is gearing up for deployment today.

The beta program is going live from pretty much, now. Announced at the start of the June, the beta testing will begin on Xbox 360 platform today, to be tested with Call of Duty: Black Ops and Xbox LIVE. Beta will be rolled out in phases with limited invitations in the coming weeks.
