It appears that Sony are making use of the latest colours in the Playstation lineup to pay tribute to our favourite Greek, for the upcoming game God of War: Ascension. first a few days ago with a console as red as our furious friend’s tattoos in North America’s Legacy Bundle, and now it has just been announced that Europe will be seeing a special edition PS3 bundle complete with a cool white console reminiscent of Kratos’ ash-white skin. Plus, it comes with the specially themed controller that matches the golden hues of the latest game!
Last year Sony added a bit of colour to the classic Playstation style, when a red PS3 console first came to our shores. Once again the company is bringing back the vibrant hues, this time with Sony Japan releasing details on two new limited edition colours for the Super Slim Playstation 3 - Azurite Blue and Garnet Red.
UPDATE: The Red and Blue consoles have also been confirmed for release in Europe, although the bundles differ slightly in content from those bound for Japan.
When it comes to beloved characters there are few as universally (and alternate universally) loved as superheroes, so the latest game from NetherRealm Studios (the famous folk behind the Mortal Kombat franchise) is sure to excite comic collectors and civilians alike. Injustice: Gods Among Us is a new fighting game that features a huge cast of DC Comics icons, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Joker, Harley Quinn, The Flash, Green Arrow, Cyborg, Nightwing, Solomon Grundy, and many others.
As if the thought of Superman and Batman duking it out wasn’t exciting enough, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have now announced not one, but three varieties of collectors editions for the game, piled high with collectibles goodies for fans. Last year we got a sneak peak at the Collector’s Edition, but now we have more details of the final pack style and a Fighting Stick bundle to boot. But true fans be warned – the North America and European editions feature two different styles of beautiful-looking statues; once you see them both you might have difficulty buying just one of them.
The Wii U is next console in line for the throne of the Nintendo empire, and it appears that the coronation will be happening sooner than expected. Today at the Wii U preview event in New York city, the official release date for the console was announced as well as the prices set for the two launch bundles, the Basic and Deluxe Sets.
Western fans of JRPGs may at times find themselves low in spirit, as they look longly across the ocean at titles they will never see. But fans rejoice, for Namco Bandi have announced that the acclaimed title Tales of Xillia will at last be yours.
