[RUMOUR]: Halo: The Master Chief Collection For Xbox One Later in the Year?

Rumours are circulating ahead of E3 of a bundled collection for Halo dubbed Halo: The Master Chief Collection, containing Halo 1 through to Halo 4 for the Xbox One.

According to Engadget, Master Chief will be enhanced in a HD collection, a chronicle of his exploits through the years. Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 be made available later in the year, as a sort of refresher for fans and newcomers before the advent of Halo 5 in 2015.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach are reportedly excluded as neither title represent the main canon of Master Chief. It’s a mystery who the developer of this fabled package will be, or the release date, however Saber Interactive were given the reins to develop the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary version for Xbox 360 and is currently working on an unannounced Xbox One project, so could very well be behind this HD re-imagining.

A Halo: The Master Chief Collection would provide enough fuel to reinvigorate the franchise, just before the arrival of Halo 5: Guardians. Microsoft commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Halo franchise just before the arrival of Halo 4, and this bundled collection could be a perfect stepping stone for so many reasons.

Microsoft remains tight-lipped on any details to the rumour, although we may get an answer at E3. For now, take it all with a grain of salt.
