Resident Evil Origins Collection is out today, well at least officially. If you’ve ventured into your local store over the last couple of days, you may have noticed the street date was already broken and the game available for purchase.
The retail bundle includes a physical disc containing remastered versions of Resident Evil 0 and the original Resident Evil. Resident Evil Origins Collection is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One priced at RRP AU$89.99. The Windows PC version will be available from January 22nd, 2016.
Resident Evil 0 takes the fear-inducing atmosphere from the original 2002 release and transforms it with stunning new HD visuals, improved sound, widescreen support, an optional modernized control system and more. A prequel to the original Resident Evil, the title offers newcomers and series fans the chance to revisit the story of what really happened before the iconic Mansion Incident that was the catalyst for the entire Resident Evil saga.
A new addition to the game is Wesker Mode, unlocked with the main campaign is completed. In this mode, you can choose to play as villian Albert Wesker, wielding powerful abilities obtained from the Uroboros virus of the later titles in the series, alongside rookie cop Rebecca Chambers in an alternate costume.
Anyone that pre-ordered the game in time will also receive a Resident Evil Zero costume pack featuring a Nurse Rebecca costume and Cody Billy outfit. Best to check with your local store to see if they have any spares as the release date is still set for January 22nd in most stores across Australia.
