Overwatch Introduces Game Browser
Make your own game.
Overwatch is expanding to include a new Game Browser feature to the game, available now on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The Game Browser allows players to create their own custom Overwatch experience and share their with their extended friends, family, teammates, or even to the general public.
Think of the Game Browser as an extension of the Custom Game mode where you can modify the rules, hero abilities, movement speed, health, damage and all that wonderful stuff. When you’re all done, lock in your rule set and then share it with others that want to play your creation.
To create a game for Game Browser, all you need to do is go to Arcade, click the ‘Create Game’ button, set your customisable options and you’re set. You can adjust things like increasing or removing cool down times, select map rotation or remove specific heroes, just about anything is possible.
If you can’t decide, you can opt for the default presets, most of which are already used in official Overwatch Brawls. A Capture the Flag map featuring the control point on Ilios, Lijang Tower, Nepal, and Oasis are also available to choose from.
Once you’re done, set the permissions on who can access your creation and you’re done. If you’re not in the mood to spin up your own mad-scientist rule set, simply select Find Game from the Arcade menu. There you’ll find a list of player-curated games that don’t involve any matchmaking. You can browse the list, hunt for a specific keyword by typing in the search field, or filter the list by mode, map, or hero. Once you find something that interests you, select the game and dive in.
Even though the Game Browser just launched, the Overwatch team is already working on new features and options for upcoming version updates.
