Ni No Kuni Wizard’s Edition Available at EB Games

Studio Ghibli is a powerhouse of animation, having captured the imagination of people world-wide with movies such as Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro and Howls Moving Castle (just to name a few). Now their signature art syle and wonderful worlds are coming the Playstation 3, as they team up with LEVEL-5 studios for the upcoming RPG Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch.

Much to the delight of Ghilbli fans, this fantastic fantasy game will be coming to Australia early next year, with both the standard and collector’s edition available for preorder.


Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch follows the journey of Oliver, a young boy who becomes a magician in a parralell universe following an attempt to bring back his deceased mother. The cell-shaded tale reflects not only the Ghibli animation style but also their knack for creating cute characters, as Oliver meets new friends and strange critters who will help him out on his adventure.

The Wizards Edition of the game is available for preorder now at EB Games.
This collector’s edition pack is priced at (AUS) $148 and includes:

  • 300+ page hardback physical copy of The Wizard’s Companion, the spellbook Oliver
    uses throughout his journey in the game.
  • Plush doll of Drippy
  • Exclusive “golden mite” and “golden drongo” DLC familiars
  • Exclusive “flutterby” and “griffy” DLC familiars

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch - Collector's Edition

The “flutterby” and “griffy” DLC familiars have not been mentioned in overseas versions of the Wizard’s Edition so it may be an Australian exclusive; we’ll update as soon as more details arise. A standard edition is also available, priced at $98 at EB Games and $99 at JB Hifi.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will be jumping onto Australian PS3’s on January 25,  2013. Looking across to parallel Worlds, the North American release date is set for January 22 and Europe also for January 25. As an added bonus to help cross the divide, the game will include not only English and Japanese voiceovers, but also text options for English, French, Spanish, Italian and German.
