Metal Gear Anniversary News, Plus Trophy Support Coming to MGS4

The Anniversary for the hugely popular Metal Gear series is coming up and Kojima Productions have a mass of content planned to get you into the action. In addition to the newly opened anniversary website, an announcement is planned for a new data-sharing feature for the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. As an added bonus, it has also been confirmed that trophies will at last be coming to a Metal Gear Sold 4 game near you!

News site Andriasang has confirmed that a ‘Playstation 3 The Best’ budget version of Metal Gear Solid 4 will be coming out in August, complete with Trophy Support. For those who already own a copy of the game, a patch will be made available to allow you to at last stock your trophy cabinet with the honors you deserve. The ‘PS3 The Best’ edition is set to retail for ¥3,990, which equates to around AUS $50.

The Metal Gear 25th Anniversary party, to be held in Tokyo on August 30, is also anticipated to include an announcement on a new ‘transferring’ feature to be found in the MGS HD Collection. The ‘transferring’ is expected to relate to data-sharing between the PS3 and PS Vita.

More Metal Gear news and details on upcoming special events will be listed on the Anniversary website. Although the site is in Japanese, it’s still worth investigating as it features some pretty impressive gear relating to the series (below is just a glimpse at some of the awesome action figures featured).
