Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games Green & Gold Special Edition (DS Version)

To commemorate the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Nintendo in conjunction with SEGA produced Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, the first game to ever feature Mario and Sonic alongside each other in the one title.

To support Australia on their road to China in the search of Gold medals, SEGA Australia released official Green and Gold Special Edition Packs for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games on the Nintendo DS and Wii.

Today Esperino looks at Mario & Sonic at the Olympics Games Green & Gold Special Edition that was made available on the Nintendo DS.

The bundle comes in a special edition custom package which includes a copy of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games and a set of three stylus. The stylus colours included are white, green and gold (more yellow than gold) keeping with the Aussie theme.

The DS game included is a standard edition. The contents are packed in a removable sturdy cardboard insert to prevent the game and stylus getting squashed. The outer cardboard is green and gold with part of the Union Jack and Southern Cross stars from our Nations flag clearly visible.

Australians have always had a proud tradition when it comes to the Olympics which the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Green & Gold Special Edition catering to the sports fanatical market.

The inclusions are far from amazing but Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games was a standout title so for those that were going to purchase the game anyway, the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Green & Gold Special Edition added an extra touch of patriotism. As the saying goes: AUSSIE! AUSSIE! AUSSIE! OI! OI! OI! 😀
