Guerrilla Games have announced the Killzone 3 Multiplayer component will adopt a free to play model for PlayStation Network (or should I say Sony Entertainment Network) players from next week.
The free to play mode will allow gamers to dabble in Guerrilla Warfare, Warzone and Operations game modes, as well as the original maps and downloadable content expansion maps so far released for Killzone 3.
With 5 classes available to play and each class having their own unique abilities and weapons, the freebie offering is going to prove popular for those that may yet to have experienced what Killzone 3 is all about. Play as teams, capture enemy spawns, build turrets, revive teammates or disguise yourself as the enemy is all part of the fun and action Sony is looking to dish out.
With a free to play model, there has to be some sort of exclusion within the game right? That would be true. You can only achieve a maximum rank of Sergeant with free to play so if you want to get further and earn trophies, you will keep to fork over $14.95 to purchase the full unlock if you want the comprehensive multiplayer experience.
For a free crack at one of the more underrated first-person shooter titles out there, Killzone 3 is definitely worth adding to your diary of things to check out during the next PSN update.
