Sony Entertainment Asia have announced a cool new hue for the Playstation Vita set to hit stores later this month: Ice Silver. The new Vita style appears to be the same as the Wifi console used in the Assassin’s Creed: Liberation bundle, but this time without a deadly assassin hiding in the box. In addition to being up for preorder in its solo form, the Ice Silver Vita is available with some extras as part of Playstation Asia’s Chinese New Year specials, along with deals on the latest Red and Blue variations of the PS Vita and PS3 Slim Console.
The fourth coloured console in the Vita series, the Ice Silver shade follows on from the white, red and blue editions. The console will only be a basic set, with only a Wifi version available packed with the necessary charging accessories and 1 set of AR Play cards (no memory card is included). Thus far details of the console’s release have only been announced for Hong Kong and Singapore; the new Vita will be making it’s way to Hong Kong on February 28th and is priced at HK$2,280, while Singapore will be getting the console a little later on March 4th with a price tag of SGD399. The cold front is also forecast for Taiwan and Malaysia, but no details have been released at this stage.
Not to be outdone by their Icy sibling, the Red and Blue Vita variants will be joining the Silver console (and the latest PS3 Slim colours) as part of a special deal by Sony Entertainment Asia to celebrate Chinese New Year.
The Ice Silver Vita for this particular deal comes bundled with an 8G memory card and one item from the ‘Chinese New Year Lucky Bag‘, which could be:
- When Vikings Attack Game
- PSN USB 2.0 Drop
- PlayStation ® Plus Limited Edition Carry Bag
- LittleBigPlanet Red Packets
- LittleBigPlanet 2013 Calendar
This special Chinese New Year preorder deal for the Ice Silver Vita is only available from the Platinum Shops across asia, while the other coloured consoles can be ordered with various New Year extras from Platinum Shops and the Sony Store.
