Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Collectors Edition get the unboxing treatment in the latest Esperino photo shoot. Exclusively available in Australia and New Zealand only, Ubisoft have given fans from the Down Under territory an exceptional package for the latest Ghost Recon title.
Housed in a thick cardboard box with a landscape design, the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Collector’s Edition packaging is a matte jet black colour with the Ghost emblem in the top right hand corner. Embossed detailing on the top surface produces a high quality finish. Special attention-to-detail can be found under closer inspection with a ghost print hidden on the back cardboard base.
Inside you’ll find a crafted holder with specific slots for each of the contents. The compressed t-shirt takes up a slot all on its own, while the remaining pieces are stacked neatly on top of each other.
The Making of Ghost Recon Future Soldier artbook is bounded in a hardcover and features concept art and rendered artwork created during the development process. Some of the artwork featured in the book made it into the final product.
The steelbook case is embossed with a predominantly off-white finish. Inside are two-disc slots with the ‘Ghost Recon: Alpha short film already taking up a slot. I imagine the other slot is intended for the game disc. The two piece of ULC content along with the limited edition lithograph artwork cards are bundled together inside on the left side. Not sure if this is the case with all steelbooks, but I found my steelbook had a firm click when pressing it which I really liked.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Collector’s Edition is the compressed Ghost Recon t-shirt. Shaped into the Ghost emblem, it’s a tiny little package shrink-wrapped together to keep its shape. When opened, you’ll discover two pieces of thin paper. One provides the instructions on uncompressing the t-shirt, the other is the top cover sheet that gives provides it with the Ghost Recon look. Soaking the t-shirt in water and drying it out is all it takes to restore your ration-pack style tee back to its original form.
The last piece of the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Collector’s Edition is obviously the game itself. Inside is a game disc, manual and your unique UPlay pass code that unlocks multiplayer modes, along with a handful of extra items to complete your Ghost Recon: Future Soldier experience.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Collector’s Edition is only available in Australia & New Zealand. There is the more economical Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Signature Edition, however for the money and exclusivity to the region, you’d be hard com-pressed to go past this exception Collector’s Edition package.
