EB Expo is coming back for another year and the list of participating publishers and event details have gotten an early reveal.
This year’s EB Expo will take place from October 3rd to October 5th at the Sydney Showground at Sydney Olympic Park.
Tickets for the event go on sale Thursday April 25th at 10am AEST, approximately one week from today. Publishers already confirmed include Activision, Electronic Arts, Nintendo, PlayStation, Ubisoft, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, XBOX plus many more yet to be announced.
The expo is reportedly going to be larger than last year’s event, with brand new pavilion expanding the event to 35,000sqm. UK Robot Wars will feature at the event with “never-before-seen attractions”. For the price of admission, you’ll be able to get up close to towering robots weighing in at 100kg with demonstrations run across all sessions for Q&As and photo opportunities.
“The EB Expo is a video game mecca with the big draw card being hands-on game play with the hottest unreleased games. Add all the live shows, awesome attractions and a night time fireworks and pyrotechnics show – it truly is a gaming utopia,” said EB Games National Brand, Events & Engagement Manager Debra McGrath.
“Whether you’re a gaming enthusiast or someone who just likes to play with your family, you’ll be spoilt for choice over the weekend. We’ve kept everyone’s favourite events and live shows from last year and planning heaps of new exciting content that will make this year’s EB Expo the biggest and best ever.”
Discounted Multiplayer Pass and Friday Daylight Sessions will be available during the school holiday period to ease the hip pocket for parents. Family Day also makes a return, on the back of it’s sold out success last year.
Video Game Hero parade, ABC’s Good Game’, free face painting and balloon twisting activities will be available, plus much more. A new Tumbletown playground area, Family Zone Café and the Lovesac Handheld Lounge & Stage will provide plenty of areas to unwind and relax in. Mario Kart tournaments and prizes will also feature during EB Expo.
Free Play City, riding on the success of last year’s Retro Gamer Garden provides a hands-on experience with retro gaming at Retro Central Park. Rack up your highest score at The Arcade, or head to the Console Business District (CBD) and experiment with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in The NXT Gen Lab.
