EA have partnered with GovX.com in an initiative dubbed ‘Project Honor’ for the families of fallen special operations warriors. The partnership will see the Danger Close Games developed Medal of Honor Warfighter receive a specially packaged Medal of Honor Warfighter Military Edition, made only available to the military.
The Medal of Honor Warfighter Military Edition includes the Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition as well as exclusive in-game unlocks, including use of the Project HONOR camouflage pattern.
“Through GovX.com, this special Military Edition will be available only to the military, not the general public. We are proud to offer our members a special edition, just for them, that gives them the recognition they deserve,” said Tony Farwell, President and a founder of GovX, Inc.
Players who pre-order the Medal of Honor Warfighter Military Edition will unlock the U.S. Navy SEAL Tier 1 Sniper on day one of launch. This multi-player unlock feature saves an estimated 40 hours of time that would normally be required to unlock the unit.
EA, GovX and select EA product partners have agreed to make a donation to the Navy SEAL Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. As part of GovX’s give-back program with its U.S. Military branch association and foundation partners, including the Air Force Association and AFA Veteran Benefits Association, Marine Corps Association & Foundation, and National Association for Uniformed Services, GovX will also donate a portion of its proceeds to these foundations.
Only available in the United States, the Medal of Honor Warfighter Military Edition is currently available to pre-order for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, with an expected release for October 23rd, 2012.
