Nintendo have formally announced their new console which will debut in 2012, the Wii U. The Wii U brings a whole new way to play with its innovative controller with a combination of a 6.2 inch touchscreen display and traditional button controls.
The Wii U controller can be used a separate playing screen or part of the game on the TV. It is backwards compatible with Wii, Wii Remotes and Wii peripherals, such as the Wii Balance Board and the Classic Controller Pro.
While there weren’t any concrete specs about the console itself, the E3 preview displayed that it was quite capable of running upcoming HD games such as Ninja Gaiden 3, Darksiders II and Batman Arkham City.
