Dead Island Preorder Bonuses; Controller, Headset, DLC & Alternate Cover

Techland’s open world horror adventure Dead Island has a variety of retail options and preorder bonuses available here in Australia.

Late last month we detailed the EB exclusive Dead Island Collector’s Edition. The package is well put together and offers value for money with a pair of premium Turtle Beach Headset included.

GAME and JB Hi-Fi aren’t laying down to die, offering their own individual Dead Island exclusives.

First up, GAME Australia have on offer an exclusive Dead Island Preorder Pack. The pack includes:

“DEAD ISLAND Preorder Pack”

  • Unique Packshot Artwork – EXCLUSIVE TO GAME

Includes Bloodbath Arena DLC

  • 4 Arenas, deadly and hazardous
  • Endless waves of Zombies
  • Loot XP and items and bring them over into your campaign
  • Leaderboard to challenge your friends
  • New gruesome weapon: Brain wave bomb

To rival all the headsets being thrown around, GAME have gone a different route and instead offering an Afterglow controller. The controller lights up when powered on, perfect for those that need a little night-lite during late night Dead Island sessions.

However what caught my attention with this offer wasn’t the controller, but the unique cover art. Going with a black and red theme, the cover has a hint of ‘House of the Dead’ to it, very nice.

DLC lovers haven’t been forgotten with a Bloodbath Arena downloadable content also included.

JB Hi-Fi have a special edition of their own, similiar to EB Games.

  • Dead Island Special Edition
  • Bloodbath DLC
  • Turtle Beach PX21 Headset

The special edition is available on all platforms, however unlike EB Games Dead Island Collector’s Edition with their Turtle Beach headsets specific to each platform, JB Hi-Fi are only offering PX21 headsets across all platforms.

Luckily the Turtle Beach PX21 Headset is a universal headset, completely compatible with Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

You’ll also get access to the Bloodbath Arena DLC with the JB Dead Island Special Edition, however you don’t get access to ‘The Ripper’ DLC as you would if purchasing EB Games Dead Island Collector’s Edition.

Take the fight to the retailers and pick the package that’s right for you. Plunge into Techland’s Dead Island secluded zombie infestation on September 9th, 2011.
