Crysis 2, the sequel to Crytek‘s visual benchmark Crysis hit stores on March 24th,2011. The game is the first to showcase the new CryEngine 3.
EB Games offered a bonus Crysis 2 game case for those that preordered before the release date here in Australia.
The game case is made from a black neoprene flexible rubber with a zip-up side. The case fits a copy of Crysis 2 snuggly inside.
The outside case is printed with the Crytek and Crysis 2 logo with a hexagonal pattern. The inspiration behind the design reflects that of the Nanosuit featured in Crysis 2.
A surprise inclusion was also given by EB Games in the form of a Threat Awareness Module downloadable voucher for use in multi-player mode.
The DLC was not advertised and came as a bonus, possibly to appease purchasers of the Crysis 2 Nano Edition that was delayed due to manufacturing issues. The Threat Awareness Module DLC was also given to those that pre-ordered the Limited Edition.
The Threat Awareness Module helps with avoiding enemy fire. It works but utilising the Nanosuit to alert players of incoming threats by displaying visual bullet trails.
These Crysis 2 preorder bonuses were exclusively available from EB Games and came with a preorder of the Crysis 2 Limited Edition and Crysis 2 Nano Edition.
