BioWare have released a trailer for the newly announced Command & Conquer Generals 2. Developed by the new Bioware Victory studio and powered by Frostbite 2, Generals 2 is set to look and sound amazing; these graphics are unlike anything you’ve seen in a RTS to date. Plus Frostbite 2 means destruction! Lots of destruction!
“For the last eight years, Command & Conquer fans have been begging for a return to the Generals universe,” said Jon Van Caneghem, Executive Producer of C&C Generals 2.
“With Generals 2, we are bringing the Command & Conquer franchise back to its roots, blending strategic gameplay with fast-paced action — all set in visually stunning theaters of war powered by Frostbite 2.”
In Generals 2 you play as one of three unique factions competing for resources and space with tanks, soldiers and aircrafts. Single player sees you experience the story of war from multiple perspectives, from “heroic Generals to crazed terrorists”; while multiplayer brings the classic deathmatch gameplay, plus new multiplayer game modes with both cooperative and competitive play in mind.
Released last month as a teaser image, the first screenshot above was thought to be
for a new game in the vein of the Uncharted series.
One of the key aspects of this game is its use of the Frostbite 2 engine; we’ve seen the impressive things this can do with visuals, physics and of course destructions in Battlefield 3. You can tell by the in-game screenshots (above) that this is going to look just as good. It almost seems as though in Generals 2 you will be commanding the troops of BF3 from above; impressive.
