EB Games on Swanston street in the Melbourne CBD is having a charity auction this Friday at 5pm for the Starlight Children’s Foundation (that’s May 4th 2012 if you’ve stumbled upon this from the future). There are over 30 items up for auction including video game bundles and promotional items such as a New Super Mario Bros standee and vinyl Posters for Mass Effect 3 and Kirby’s Epic Yarn. The EB Expo held on the Gold Coast was the first games event of its size in Australia, seeing massive crowds, big name exhibitors, and a ton of gamers. Every convention sees its fair share of cosplayers and this occasion was no different; EB themselves even offered a variety of gaming characters for hugging and harassment, including the likes of Mario, Sonic and Sack Boy.
Just for you we’ve put together some of the awesome costumes and had a chat with the winners of the Cosplay Evolved competition who did a very impressive job on their costumes and skit “Mass Affection“. EB Expo 2011 wasn’t all just about video games. Yes, most of us went there to get up close and personal with our favourite upcoming releases, even hands-on if the opportunity allowed us.
Of course no expo can be called complete without the presences of booth babes. These seductive sirens of the gaming world drew the attention of just about all attendees throughout the sunny Gold Coast weekend.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment bought their ‘A’ game with them to EB Expo 2011 this weekend with hands-on play test of the highly anticipated sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City. Calling this game highly anticipated is somewhat of an understatement if the queues for play-testing is anything to go by. It is easily one of the most popular games of the event, despite the title being available in Australia from October 19th this week. View the full article »
