Borderlands 2 Swag-filled Limited Edition Diamond Plate Loot Chest Announced at PAX East

If you missed out on the original Borderlands 2 Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition, this chunky swag-filled edition is a suitable replacement. Inside you’ll find:

  • Diamond Plate Loot Chest
  • Loot Chest Certificate of Authenticity
  • A rare vacuform Goliath mask w/ SHiFT code that unlocks the head in-game
  • 20 Trading cards with SHiFT codes that unlock Legendary items in game
  • Vault Hunters Wanted Poster
  • Window Decals for Hyperion, Jakobs, Maliwan, and more

Dimensions of Loot Chest: approx. 18″ long x 8″ deep x 6.25″ tall. Does not include a copy of Borderlands 2

According to ThinkGeek, included items could change before release so be sure to check in for updates.

The chest seems to be notably different with a slightly different colour scheme to distinguish it from the original chest. There is also no copy of Borderlands 2 included in this edition which the developers deliberately left out so existing fans would not need to buy two copies of the same game, although I’m sure some collector purists won’t be too pleased about. Extras such as the rare Goliath mask are a unique inclusion, not available in previous CE releases.

Although ThinkGeek list the Swag-filled Limited Edition Diamond Plate Loot Chest as an exclusive, retailer Forbidden Planet and Gearbox’s own online store is supposedly selling it through their channels as well. Limited to 5,000 units and priced at $99.99 USD, orders can be placed through ThinkGeek from June 6th, 2013 via

Unforunately they do not accept pre-orders so you’ll need to sign-up to email notification to ensure you don’t miss out.

What are your thoughts? Is this an edition worth adding to your collection?

too bad i bought the 1st 1 no reason to have 2. there would need to be more to it for the same price for me, such as a psycho mask and a gun replica as well as whats already there. The poster mask and codes are what the main draw is for me

I also have the original Loot Chest but I still find it tempting. 😐 The mask is supposedly vacuform which might mean it’s a bit more flimsy than people may expect, but I guess if it’s not being worn much could be a nice rare piece to display. A resin mask would have been a nice alternative. 😛 Either way, I’ve subscribed to their email list so I can assess my funds closer to the release date. 😀
