The next installment in the never ending battle against the templars has been revealed to the world as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and despite the quality of the ship there’s bound to be a few leaks here and there; lucky for us this means that we get our hands on the precious treasure of new screenshots and trailers. In addition to the sly shots that snuck out early, Ubisoft have set free the rest of the game’s concept art and (latest) screenshots for all to sea see.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is set in the West Indies at the dawn of the 18th century, during the ‘Golden Age of Pirates’. Players will be pulling on the boots of the British pirate known as Edward Kenway; once a privateer for the Royal Navy, Kenway enters into the world of piracy just as the wars of the Empires come to a close. Images indicate that this rogue of the seas will be sailing out on the open seas, sneaking his way through the trees of tropical jungles, and diving down to the treasures of the deep. If that wasn’t enough to engage your spirit of adventure, the title also promise a wide range of locations to visit, plus the likes of the infamous pirates Blackbeard and Charles Vane!
Gameplay in Assassin’s Creed: IV Black Flag is based upon the franchise’s proven tenets. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag features a vast open world with more than 50 navigable locations. Combat combines the weaponry of the Assassin’s Order with armaments of the era, and rewards both daring and stealth. And the series’ acclaimed multiplayer experience is more varied and ruthless than ever in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be shipping out on October 29 for North America (Oct 31st for Aussies), for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC; it has also been confirmed to be sailing on to the Playstation 4, Wii U, and other Next Gens in the future. As an added bonus for the Sony afficianados, gamers who grab Black Flag on PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 will be able to download an extra 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay via the PlayStation Network following the title’s launch. But that’s enough talk from us; pirates were all about action, so we’ll let you judge for yourself with a brief glimpse at two of the game’s key characters, the concept art and the all new trailer. Enjoy!
