On the topic of games to movies, one country that seems to be quite adept at this adaption is Japan. As you may have noticed, we at Esperino have been eagerly awaiting developments in the Ace Attorney live action movie, also known as Gyakuten Saiban 逆転裁判. Those who are equally excited for the real-world antics of Phoenix Wright will be happy to hear that the movie will be featured at this year’s Melbourne International Film Festival.
Set in a parallel version of Japan, Gyakuten Saiban takes place in a legal system where both the prosecution and defence have only three days to prove a person’s innocence or guilt. There’s some impressive recreations of characters and locations, plus the addition of CGI and other visual effects allows Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth to throw the series’ signature Objections across the room.
This years Melbourne International Film Festival will take place August 2 – 19 , with the official movie screening times to be announced July 13. If you want to get your hands on a ticket passes or to read up on Ace Attorney and some of the other films check out the MIFF website; we certainly have no objections.
